At Materials In The Raw, we are passionate about gardening and landscaping! The bird are singing again, it must be spring! The garden is waking up. Its time to plant, prune, prepare beds and care for your lawn.

Spring time has sprung and its time to get outside and plan your next DIY project.

Why not edge your garden?

Garden edging helps to give shape to your garden, pavers, driveways and other outdoor areas.

Use Link Edge if you want edging perfection!

Link Edge is visually appealing, and has many other advantages over other edging techniques as outlined below.

Cement          Can be expensive to install, maintain

Wood             Over time it rots, attracts pests and treated wood can contain nasty chemicals

Plastic            Fades, cracks and do you really want that breaking down in your garden?

Steel               Rusts, develops sharp edges and is difficult to design with.

Link Edge is easy to install. Just following our step by step guide.

1. Clear the area, compact and level the base surface.
2. Place a length of Link Edge on the surface in the desired shame and position.
3. Starting at one end, half-hammer edge spikes into the pre-punctured holes in the Link Edge. Ensure the edge spikes are only 4. half inserted into the surface.
5. Four spikes are recommended for every three metre length, however more may be required in pivotal areas and at points where a bend or curve is desired.
6. If any additional lengths are required, slide a fishplate connector into the second Link Edge length.
7. Snap the second length to the fishplate connector to create a smooth, uninterrupted edge.
8. Ensure the position of the Link Edge is correct. If it needs to be repositioned, remove the edge spikes that had been half- hammered into the base surface and alter the position.
9. When using Heavy Duty Link Edge slide the guide into the slot, and place the spike through the guide and then the Link Edge so it will not buckle. Always install Spike guides with edge spike holes towards the bottom of the spike guide.
10. Once satisfied with the position, firmly hammer the spikes into the ground.
11. Fill each side of the Link Edge with your desired surface – Turf, Mulch or Rock Pebbles for example
12. Time to enjoy your new landscaped area.
